Hello to all from The Whitewright Martial Arts Center located in downtown Whitewright , Texas where we specialize in traditional Korean TaeKwonDo and Chinese Tai Chi. I know this is Monday instead of Sunday but I have been recovering from the Thanksgiving week of food and fun. Now it is back to business. Mark your calendars for this Saturday, Dec. 7 will be the annual Whitewright Christmas Parade where people from all over Grayson County will convene. There have been two different starting times given, one source says it starts at 10:00 AM and the other says it starts at 11:00 AM. The Martial Arts Center will be at the starting point at 9:00 to satisfy the show time for the 10:00 starting time. We will be handing out candy along with business cards showing our website and e-mail address. Along with that we will provide a coupon that can be redeemed for one free month of martial arts classes. These classes can be for TaeKwonDo or Tai Chi or both. After the parade we will be conducting promotion exams for two students who will be testing for their first level blue belt. This test is particularly significant because it is halfway to black belt. It is a grueling test for the students must display proficiency in everything they have learned since the beginning. This test will include basic TaeKwonDo techniques and well as board breaking and sparring. Everyone who attends the parade is invited to come and watch these two students display their skills. In addition, everyone who does attend the test will be registered for the give-away prize of three free months of martial arts classes plus a free uniform if the recipient selects to take TaeKwonDo. This prize, like the coupon, may be used for TaeKwonDo or Tai Chi or both, but only the uniform will be awarded if the winner elects TaeKwonDo. We wear regular workout clothing in the Tai Chi class and not uniforms. The drawing will be at the end of the testing and the winner must be present to win the prize. It looks like it is going to be a fun day for all so come on down, enjoy the parade and come watch the testing. Again, mark your calendars and we will see you there.
